Christine’s organic garden awakens from its winter slumber with crocus, tulips and primroses. From week to week, you discover colors and scents of the lilacs, laburnums and sweet peas which explode in flowers. Outside the property, walk across grassy fields, take the path through wild orchids and continue on foot, by bike, horseback or car on an itinerary adapted to your cultural, gastronomic or sporting interests.
In the beginning of April Beaune hosts a film festival of detective movies and it is possible to see the best films of the genre as well as international film stars.
During breakfast on the terrace, you take advantage of the flower garden and the beautiful views over the old town of Beaune. Afterward, you can go into town on foot, through the vineyards already heavy with grapes. You can also rest in the garden, near the swimming pool among butterfly trees or relax in the spa, situated in an exceptional natural cave so refreshing in summer.
In the evenings of July, attend a concert during Beaune’s renowned baroque music festival. In August, Ciné-Rétro proposes you a projection of famous old silent movies accompanied by a live pianist.
Autumn is beautiful in Burgundy and if you come in September you will see how the the grape harvest animates hillsides and villages. In October, walks are magnificent because vineyards are colored with brown, yellow and red and you can pick and taste the various grapes.
In the middle of October, in Beaune, the Bread, Wine and Cheese Festival proposes more than 450 cheeses of France and Europe, wines from numerous domains as well as an original assortment of regional breads. During the 3rd weekend of November takes place the world-famous wine auction of the Hospices de Beaune, which is the occasion of festivities all over town.
In winter, people from Burgundy are relaxed and hospitable; you are given a warm welcome in their cellars and restaurants. At La Terre d’or, we propose French or a Burgundian cooking classes with Chef Alex, followed by a lively meal. You are also welcome to participate in Jean-Louis’ Burgundy wine classes and tastings that take place in an exceptional natural cave. In this cave, you can also relax completely thanks to water jets and bubbles in the spa.
You will enjoy the large living-room with an old fireplace and piano. You will spend magnificent evenings at La Terre d’Or, maybe a family gathering for Christmas or a New Year’s Eve with friends.
In January, don’t miss the traditional Saint Vincent Tournante, a major event in Burgundy. Throngs of wine lovers are received by wine makers of a different village each year, this year in Chassagne-Montrachet, January 30th and 31st.
