The Saint Vincent Tournante wine festival on January 30th and 31st, 2010
Saint Vincent is the wine maker’s patron saint and, every year, for generations, one of 40 wine makers’ villages is chosen to welcome the statue of the saint with elaborate ceremonies and sampling of the village wines. This year, Chassagne-Montrachet opens its doors for an unforgettable weekend on January 30th and 31st, 2010: tradition, aromas and friendliness.
In this village, splendidly decorated by the inhabitants for the event, the festivities include: a colorful parade and procession with the banners of the societies of Saint Vincent, the costumes of the brotherhoods and the statues of the Saints, a religious service, the enthronements and especially, the possibility of tasting the vintage of Saint Vincent, the whole in a joyful atmosphere.
Come to taste white and red wines issued from the famous vineyards known all over the world. Experience the wine makers’ know-how and the taste of the vintage wines. The vaulted cellars of the wine makers of Chassagne-Montrachet are opened from 11 am to 5 pm, on Saturday, January 30 and Sunday, January 31st, 2010.
For 15 €, you are given a commemorative wine glass (especially designed for the occasion) which never goes empty.
